Dress Your Palette

About Dress Your Palette

Dress Your Palette finds clothes, shoes, bags and jewelry that suit two things at once: your color season and your Kibbe type. Every pick says why.

Color and lines, checked together

A color palette tells you which shades suit you; a body-line system tells you which silhouettes do. Dress Your Palette checks every piece against both, and shows the reasons for each.

  • Color: the garment is cut out of its product photo (no skin, hair or background), its color is measured perceptually in OKLCH and CIELAB, and it is scored against all 12 seasons by ΔE2000 distance. The shop’s color name is only a weak hint.
  • Lines: the garment’s silhouette, waist, shoulder line, fabric and details are compared with the rules in David Kibbe’s book for your type, and the pick names the rule it meets or misses.
  • Near misses are shown and labeled rather than hidden. Photos and prints that can’t be measured reliably are left out rather than guessed.
  • Jewelry is matched by metal and stone, not by pixels.

If you don’t know your season or type yet, the guides explain both systems. A list of professionals who analyze them is being put together and will appear in the professionals section.

Where things stand

Dress Your Palette is new. Its first region is the United States, with prices in US dollars. Shop products appear once partner shops’ product feeds are connected. Until then, the wardrobe shows each season’s palette, and the guides explain how the picks are made.

We don’t publish accuracy figures yet. They will be published once the measurements have been evaluated against professional analyses.

How the site is funded

Some shop links will be affiliate links: when you buy through one, the shop may pay us a commission. Commissions never change which products are shown or in what order. The affiliate disclosure and ranking principles explain this in full.

Who publishes it

Dress Your Palette is published by Jon Dillemuth, a sole trader (toiminimi) registered in Finland, business ID 2642675-5. You can reach us through the contact page.
